New car detailing: keeping it new
The first months set the tone. A few easy habits plus a well-timed hand detail keep a new car feeling new much longer.
Why new car detailing matters early
New car detailing is less about fixing and more about keeping. Most new cars leave the lot clean but not perfect, and the first months of daily driving add grit, fingerprints and the first coffee drips. A careful mobile hand detail at your home in Palo Alto or elsewhere on the Peninsula clears that early buildup before it settles in.
We do not offer ceramic coating, sealants, waxing or paint protection film. If you want those, ask your dealer or a shop that does them. What we do is keep the car clean in a gentle way that does not wear the finish.
Interior habits for the first months
Small habits do more than any product. These keep the cabin looking fresh:
- Use all-weather mats from the start, especially in rainy months.
- Keep a small trash bag in the door pocket so wrappers do not end up under seats.
- Wipe spills right away with a damp cloth, then dry the spot.
- Use a seat protector under child seats and a cover for dogs.
- Avoid harsh household sprays on screens and gloss trim.
- Shake out mats every week or two.
When to book the first detail
Many owners book a first detail after two to three months, once the car has seen real life. That timing catches the first round of crumbs, light seat marks and road film before they get worked in. If you bought the car during pollen season or before the rainy months, sooner can make sense.
After that, a steady rhythm works better than waiting for the car to look rough. NOVA Monthly holds a regular slot monthly or every two weeks, and you can skip, move or cancel by text.
Which package fits a new car
A Full Detail is usually right for a new car: careful interior clean plus a hand wash, wheels, tires and glass. Spot buffing on light marks is part of the Complete Detail, though most new cars do not need it. If your new car has matte paint, tell us first so we can adjust.
The package we suggest
Full Detail. Prices depend on the car and its condition, so we text you an exact price before anything is booked. Not sure? Text a photo and we will suggest one.
