Car detailing for a road trip starts with clear glass and an empty cabin. Before a drive to Tahoe, down Big Sur or up Highway 1, clean inside glass helps with low sun and glare. A cabin without old wrappers and loose clutter leaves room for the gear you actually need.
Our mobile team comes to your home on the Peninsula, cleans the interior by hand, washes the outside and finishes the glass inside and out. Book a few days before you leave so the car is ready without a rush.
It also helps to check the wiper blades and washer fluid yourself before a long drive. We clean the glass, but we do not do mechanical checks or top up fluids.
What long drives leave behind
Every route leaves its own mark:
- Highway 1 and Big Sur: salt air film, beach sand in carpets and seat tracks.
- Tahoe in summer: dust, pine sap and bugs on the front end.
- Tahoe in winter: road grime and slush residue on lower panels.
- Central Valley drives: bug splatter on the bumper, mirrors and windshield.
- Every trip: snack crumbs, sticky cupholders and a hazy windshield.
After the trip: a reset at home
Bugs and sap are easier to remove when they are fresh, so it helps to book soon after you get back. We vacuum sand out of carpets and from under the seats, clean cupholders and door pockets, and wash the outside by hand.
Heavy bug and tar buildup, deep sand or a car that went off pavement may be better suited to Elite Restoration, which includes bug and tar removal and paint decontamination. Text a few photos and we will quote it.
Which package fits

Driving home over the hills in fog or a marine layer leaves a fine film on glass and paint. A careful hand wash and clean glass make the next commute easier.
